That’s the excuse bad drivers give when they hit pedestrians, cyclists, and bikers.
But also probably what drivers say when they hit semi trucks, railways, and oceans.

Yep. Pretty much any time they hit something they should have been very aware of “I didn’t see” is the claim.
(*rear ended on 5 separate occasions and T-Boned once in 4 different service trucks with company logos all over them)

The third one happened to me two months ago.. Some woman came up onto the exit she needed while she was in the far left lane. She cut in front of EVERYONE to make it at the very last second. Didn’t hit anyone though but she did pull off to the side on the off-ramp.. She probably crapped herself.

This is why autonomous vehicles are coming, whether we like it or not.

Guy in truck turned left without looking. One 1966 Mustang in fantastic condition totaled.

“I didn’t see” means “I didn’t look.”

I don’t understand why people do these things, as though they think there won’t be another exit in a 1/4 mile. Why risk destroying your car or getting killed to save five minutes turning around?
I have a friend whose car was totaled on a road trip. He decided to let his passenger take the wheel while he got some rest, she thought she was missing the exit they needed to take (she wasn’t, it was the next one) swerved off the highway and ran into the light pole at the bottom of the exit ramp, knocking the stop light down and totaling his car.

Watching these cars, some fairly “large”, get tossed around like children’s toys reminds me why I don’t fuck with semis.

Lot of good examples here of truckers paying attention and doing the right thing
